ROSS DOUBLE PLANETARY MIXERS PLAY A KEY ROLE IN EPOXY ELECTRICAL INSULATOR MOLDING FACILITY

Electrical circuit breaker bushings and insulators are used by the thousands, yearly, as a component of high voltage generating and transmission equipment. For many years, porcelain was the material of choice for producing these high voltage electrical circuit breaker bushings and insulators. The Power Circuit Breaker Division of a major supplier solved many of the problems plaguing porcelain circuit breaker bushings by developing superior bushings based on new epoxy formulations, and by mixing these epoxies on 24-Ross 40 Gallon Double Planetary Mixers. 12 mixers are used each for parts A and B of the epoxy resin system. The mix cans are jacketed and heated with ethylene glycol, and the mixers are equipped to mix under vacuum.
