ROSS DPM-10 Compact & Powerful Double Planetary Mixer for Laboratory and Pilot-Scale Operations

April 30, 2026

ROSS has delivered an ergonomic and powerful Double Planetary Mixer Model DPM-10 engineered for high-viscosity and specialty material processing in laboratory and pilot-scale operations. This machine can handle batch sizes from 2 to 12 gallons, with a 15-gallon full holding capacity mix can.

A 5 HP explosion-proof inverter-duty motor drives a pair of rectangular blades that operate with a powerful planetary kneading action suitable for thoroughly blending wet or dry materials, regardless of flow characteristics. A stainless-steel sidewall scraper with replaceable Teflon® blades promotes uniform mixing and efficient heat transfer. Mixing under vacuum produces a void-free finished product and improves dispersion quality. The vacuum hood is equipped with sight/charge ports for ingredient charging and observation. An air/oil hydraulic lift with two-hand controls ensures safe, controlled operation while explosion-proof limit switches prevent operation unless the stirrers and mix can are properly positioned.

The mix can is fabricated with a heating/cooling jacket and fitted with a 2-inch flush bottom ball valve for controlled, efficient discharge with the accompanying ROSS DS-10-gallon Discharge System. The use of the discharge platen with Viton® sealing O-ring maximizes product yield and simplifies clean-up. The mixer and discharge system are mounted on a common carbon-steel bench with stainless-steel V-groove tracks for easily transferring the mix can between the mixer and discharge system, promoting overall efficiency.
